The Technology, Engineering and Sciences Coalition (TESCO) is an intergovenmental alliance between 41 countires, with the founding conutries being: Canada, Norway, China, Japan, Germany and Denmark. It was an alliance to enhance development of science and techonology. It was established in 2065 after a financal crisis 2 years prior. Rapid economic growth lead to the development of many new technologies, made possible with the help of Taiga. The most growth was observed regarding the space travel sector.
TESCO started shifting its focus to space exploration as new materials made it possible to create large scale space structures cheaply while maintaining strength. This allowed for the creation of manufacturing plants in space and large spacecrafts that can house hundreds to thousands of individuals. This breakthrough created a huge boom in the space industry.
In 2125, the first humans were sent to Callisto, a moon of Jupiter, marking a huge milestone since the first Mars landing back in 2062. A goal was then set to send the first humans to Proxima Centauri before the end of the next century (before 2300). The first humans set foot on Proxima Centauri B in 2250.
In 2300, 50 years after the landing, Project Longshot was established, with a goal of letting humans live on other solar systems, rather than just our own. Japan and China made great contributions thanks to their long history with rocket technology. The first major transport of humans and resources occured in late 2315, with 30,000 people being sent to Proxima Centarui B on three separate ships.
