Juoppo is the fifth planet in the Aurinko System. It is an ice giant with a radius of about 4 Earths, roughly half of Suojelija's. It is the furtherest confimed planet in the system at a max distance of 6.767 AU at aphelion, and has an orbital period of about 9.3 years.
Nomenclature
Due to Juoppo's unusually high eccentricity, it was given the name Juoppo which is Finnish for "drunkard".
General characteristics
Juoppo is an ice giant, having higher levels of volatiles compared to gas giants. It has a solid core of metals and silicates, on top of which lies a sea of supercritical fluid likely made of water and ammonia.
Juoppo's atmosphere is predominantly hydrogen and helium with trace amounts of methane. Clouds of water, ammonia and other compounds have been detected in the troposphere. A notable feature on Juoppo is its methane ice clouds in the southern hemisphere that spans the entire circumference of the planet. It has been observed to grow and shrink based on solar activity.
In 2397, a large dark vortex was observed in Juoppo's northern hemisphere, named the Great Eye. A dark oval was formed spanning roughly 10,000 kilometers across and had a clockwise vortex, sucking the atmosphere inward toward the planet's core. This created a hole in the methane cloud layer, giving it is darker tone. A bright central region was also observed, which was caused by methane ice clouds. The storm lastest for about 2 years before entirely disappating in 2400. Similar storms have not been observed since.
Juoppo's orbit is unusually eccentric and has an inclination difference of more than a degree compared to the other planets, this suggests either a significant impact even occured in its early life, or a third large body that interacted with Juoppo causing the high eccentricity.
